The FLTA Philosophy |
|
— the „All In One Hand — Principle“ |
|
Tennis
training, conditioning training, tournament scheduling
and – coaching, physiotherapy, school care and control
and education are perfectly coordinated and all in one
hand.
For the best of our students — Every single day ! |
Tennis and school
Cooperate with each other
at the FLTA in a harmonious relation.
They complement one another for mutual benefit. Thus the
scholastic education is always obtaining the appropriate
attention, without cutting the demands, that high
level sports arises.
In our daily schedule the professional training program
and the intense scholastic program are perfectly
synchronized.
„Everything under one roof“. Thus our students are able
to improve their scholastic achievements within a very
short period of time.
Our up to now most sucessful students, now ranked
between no. 55 and no. 650 in the world rankings, all
have graduated with outstanding results. Top-100 player
Simon Greul for example with an average of 1.7 in the
german abitur.

Housing and living in our boarding
school
FLTA pros, teachers and coaches are
guiding our students throughout the day. They are ready
to help them in case of upcoming problems and they take
care of order and discipline in the boarding house.
Living in the boarding house is like
living in a family.
Consequently homesickness is a an unknown word at the FLTA.

Learning on a long term basis
The FLTA training program incorporates a
combination of all factors, that determine the
performance in the game of tennis. The training of
technique, consistency, accuracy and physical condition (coordination,
speed & agility, strength, endurance a.s.o.) are
vital parts of the FLTA training routine.
Flaws in technique as well as
tactical or physical weaknesses in the game of our
students are being traced and are consequently fought by
our coaches staff. We provide our students with a
complete and thorough education in tennis technique.
By means of an early and well
balanced approach to tournament tennis our students
learn to deal with the challenge of competition right in
time. We don´t put our focus on winning or losing at all
costs, but rather on the sucessful transformation of the
technical and tactical skills brought up in training
into the tournament situation. In that concern we regard
tournament appearances of our young students as a
learning process. In our words: „tournament training“.
We always encourage our students to play modern,
offensive tennis, even though the chances of early
sucesses might become less likely.
We recognize positive results and outstanding rankings
positively, but anyway they are of minor importance to
us.

Education and guidance
We put a special
focus on the social education and the development of the
character of our students. Our philosophy in education
and training is based on the belief, that the chances of
our students to successfully perform in the game of
tennis result from the combination of different factors
Physical fitness
social competence
technical
skills education
tactical skills
intelligence
Intellectual and mental skills
In their daily work our staff members are
always concerned to work on those factors, to help each
of our students to reach his individual maximum of
performance in tennis and school.
Sportsmanship and fairness on and off the
court are vital parts of the FLTA education: Our motto
in that concern is :
„Without fairness there can be no true
victory“
Teamspirit is another important column of
our philosophy.
By training, playing tournaments, learning and spending
leisure time together in a team, we constantly build up
the teamspirit and the social conduct of our students.
Stardom and resulting airs and graces of more successful
players cannot arise at the FLTA.
Our students rather benefit from the strenghts of their
teammates and help each other to work on their
weaknesses.
Respect for teachers and comrades, discipline and
concentration in training and school as well as
responsibility and consideration for teammembers are
other important values of our philosophy.
This way our students recognize very
early, that outstanding performances depend strongly on
terms like „respect“, „discipline“, „concentration“, „responsibility“
and „humility“.

The FLTA - training system
The main goal of our training system is
to offer to our students the optimum support to reach
their individual performance maximum.
We strive for the „complete player“, who
within his individual preferences and talents, can
reach his individual maximum of performance.
Our training program incorporates
a combination of all factors that determine performance
in the game of tennis.
The training of tennis technique,
consitency and accuracy are vital elements of the daily
practice routine.
The conditioning training at the
FLTA is following the newest knowledge of sports science
as well as more than 20 years of experience of our
conditioning coaches in high level sports.
All components that determine performance
in tennis such as speed, agility, flexibility,
coordination, balance, strength and endurance are being
practiced on– and/or off-court
Thus our students start to obtain the conditional basis
and later gain the fitness, necessary to be competitive
in senior tennis.
The training of our students lies all in
one hand. An intensive communication is always taking
place amongst the pros and coaches.
Strengths, weaknesses and upcoming
problems are frequently being discussed within our staff.
The organization of training– and
tournament scheduling, tournament organization (entries,
withdrawals, travel, departure, arrival, housing,
coaching a.s.o.) are being completely taken over by our
administration.
The health of our students lies in
the hands of our team of physiotherapists.
In case of arising problems like injuries, overuse or
dysbalances they are ready to intervene immidiately.
Thus we can usually prevent our students from longer
rehabilitation periods.
